Remove location when sharing on Snapchat
On Snapchat, the hidden EXIF in a photo is only half the story. The app shares location in ways that have nothing to do with a file's metadata — and those catch people out the most.
Two different location risks
Snaps taken in-app are processed by Snapchat, but photos and videos you attach from your Camera Roll can carry their original GPS and device metadata — especially when saved or exported.
The bigger exposure is Snap Map, which broadcasts your live location to friends unless you're in Ghost Mode, and Memories exports, which can hand back files with metadata. These are settings, not file edits.
Lock both down
Turn on Ghost Mode in Snap Map to stop live-location sharing — that's a one-time toggle in settings.
